Today, a new flexible workplace, WorkYourWay, officially launched to match parents and others with their flexible work dreams around the world.

Dubbed ‘Tinder for Flex’, WorkYourWay is powered by a unique ‘flexibase’ algorithm that generates percentage scores for roles and candidates to help them find their perfect flexible match. The new site aims to bring full transparency to a job market full of smoke and mirrors when it comes to flex.

The brainchild of Tim Grimes and Anna Whitehouse, aka Mother Pukka, WorkYourWay is designed to help companies fill vacant roles by bringing to life the flexible working policy that underpins all companies and all roles the industries Research has shown that 9 in 10 (87%) people want to work flexibly, but only 1 in 4 workplaces advertise flexible working today.

Anna Whitehouse, broadcaster and founder of Flex Appeal, says: “Flexible working is not just for mums or dads. It’s for everyone. And Tim and I have come together to launch a job matching solution that will truly change the way we work.

“If businesses are serious about inclusion and diversity in the workplace and want to play their part in closing the gender pay gap, they will join our fight for change, one job at a time. We are bringing jobs to the market with a Flex Appeal aspect.

“For decades, we’ve all kept our lives and struggles a secret, desperately trying to work around an archaic 9-5pm working day that marks the Industrial Revolution. Now it’s time for change – enough is enough.

“WorkYourWay is our grassroots movement to bring all businesses into the 21st century with truly flexible job search for candidates. This is for everyone who has been denied flexible working and those who are desperately seeking – the power is changing – and we’re making flexible working the norm, not the special request for today’s job hunters.”

Busy parents looking for work that fits their lifestyle with kids can access the new site now; hundreds of companies are already registered. Candidates can search the site for companies and flexible jobs, filtering through 23 options to find the flex of their dreams. Filters include; work patterns, workload, workplace and life events, enabling candidates to provide full clarity on their work-life balance before applying for the position.

Last year, Anna Whitehouse and Sir Robert McAlpine published a new ‘Flexonomics report’ which revealed that flexible working is worth £37bn to the economy. A 50% increase in flexible working rates could result in a net economic gain of £55 billion. The current economic challenges this could bear are endless.

Tim Grimes, co-founder of WorkYourWay, comments: “We want to breathe transparency into job hunting for flexibility. For people looking for flexibility and for companies hiring. It’s no longer an optional extra, it’s essential to the most people and yet most roles don’t mention flexible working in their advertising.

“Often the company offers flexible work, but for one reason or another, they haven’t put it in the ad. We want to change all that, change the power dynamics and make flex a level playing field for everyone. If you have the flexibility that candidates are looking for, you’ll get your match, and vice versa.”
