Dating app Bumble proves to be a successful job search platform.

A Twitter user recently shared a screenshot of a conversation he had on the dating app Bumble , in which he pitches a job to his match. This incident has caused an uproar online and sparked a conversation about changing job search priorities and trends.

The conversation started with the person on the other end mentioning that he worked in HR at a startup. They wrote: “Hahahaha. I’m in HR. Talent acquisition at a startup. And you?”. To this, Twitter user Adnaan replied that he is studying electrical and computer engineering and then apply for a job. He wrote: “Maybe you can acquire talent (sic)’ma your startup.” And to her surprise, the person on the other end wasn’t surprised by her approach and instead asked about the jobs she was interested in and asked if she was graduating this year. They wrote: “I was going to ask what kind of job are you looking for. LOL. Are you graduating this year?”

While taking a screenshot of this conversation, Adnaan wrote on Twitter: “Use LinkedIn for work. I use Bumble. We are not the same bro.” He later reported in the post’s comments section that his efforts had paid off and that he would be interviewing for a job at the startup. “I’m interviewing here just finalizing the dates. Haha,” Adnaan wrote.

This incident has sparked a conversation on Twitter, with many users sharing their reactions and thoughts on the matter. Some users noted that people’s priorities have changed in the “age of layoffs,” and others shared that dating apps like Bumble can be used as an alternative to professional networking sites like LinkedIn. Many users joked that Bumble is the new LinkedIn and some even mentioned that they would also consider using other social media platforms like LinkedIn and Reddit for job hunting.

It’s worth mentioning that while this incident is unique, it doesn’t mean this is the new job search trend, but rather a showcase that people are exploring all their options in a challenging job market.
