New Delhi: A software professional has been arrested in Bangalore for murder after his host girlfriend fell to her death from the fourth floor balcony of the apartment where they lived.

Archana Dhiman, 28, arrived in the city from Dubai just four days before her death last Friday. She stayed with boyfriend Adesh at the Renuka residence in the posh suburb of Koramangala.

According to the police, Archana met technician Adesh on a dating app and had been in a relationship with him for the past six months.

Assistant Commissioner of Police CK Baba said Archana, who was working out of Dubai, met Adesh frequently, even on the day he died.

The woman is from Himachal Pradesh and the man from Kerala, Baba said.

He also said that a case of murder was registered based on the complaint of Archana’s father, adding that the family suspected the boyfriend.

The couple fought frequently, Adesh revealed during questioning. He also told the police that Archana slipped and fell and was immediately taken to a hospital where she was declared brought dead.
