What better way to kick off a queer comedy than with Lukas Gage giving Zachary Quinto a helping hand? No, not really.
So begins the pair’s “outrageous” new film, Down Low, and if the hype is to be believed, it only gets messier from there.
Directed by actor Rightor Doyle in his directorial debut, Down Low sees Gage star as Cameron, a young, sex-positive masseuse, while Quinto stars as Gary, a terminally ill rich zaddy who has yet to make it to the top. final and has made his first complete. , sexual experience with another man.

After they meet, Gage’s character helps Qunto’s Gary join a queer dating app, and they go looking for a third one under the charming screen name “Lad and Dad.”
They are soon joined by a supposedly straight and incredibly closeted third party (Sebastian Arroyo), known as Sammy, or “Looking2succ.” After some commotion, Looking2succ ends up throwing himself out of a window and quickly dies.
Throughout are camp references to queer obsessions like The Real Housewives and the phrase “we stan,” while variety he refers to it as a gay version of 2009’s cishet phenomenon, The Hangover.
Simon Rex’s character, affectionately known as ‘Fleshpuppet’, is a stranger with a penchant for the dead or dying, who is obtained by Cameron and Gary via the Dark Web to help them dispose of the body, while that Judith Light is a nosy neighbor who accidentally stumbles upon Looking2succ’s corpse.

It sounds very bad, but very correct.

Down Low is currently screening at the SXSW Festival with a worldwide release date yet to be announced.
