RCMP are investigating a double homicide in Coquitlam, asking for information from the public and video footage

Police in Coquitlam, BC, are investigating a double homicide after an early evening shooting in the south end of the community.

RCMP say they received several calls for a shooting in the area of ​​Dawes Hill Road and Mundy Street on Wednesday around 7:45 p.m.

Upon arrival, responding officers say they found two people in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was rushed to hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Crews say a third person was also found with a non-life threatening gunshot wound and is being treated at the hospital.

The province’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has been called in and will work alongside the Coquitlam RCMP.

No word yet on suspects or a motive. Investigators are asking members of the public who may have information related to the case or video footage of the area to come forward.
