Study: 22 percent of female Tinder users in Spain experience sexual violence – Breitbart

A Spanish study has revealed that around 22 percent of users of the hookup app Tinder have experienced some form of sexual violence, with the majority of women saying they felt pressured to have sex.

The ‘Apps Without Sexual Violence’ study was carried out by the Federation of Young Women (FMJ) and funded by the Spanish Government’s Delegation against Gender-Based Violence, and interviewed 963 women who use the Tinder hookup application.

The results of the study found that up to 70% of users felt pressured to have sex, while 21.7% said they had been subjected to sexual violence after meeting someone on Tinder, the newspaper El world reports.

FMJ president Ada Santana said 40% of respondents have violent sex because of the influence of pornography and 57% have been pressured to drink alcohol to maintain their relationships.

Earlier this month, Spanish juvenile prosecutor Eduardo Esteban linked the consumption of pornography to the increase in cases of sexual assault among young Spaniards.

“They go to pornography like it’s a tutorial that we run on the Internet,” Esteban said.

“There is really no sexual training for minors, who resort to alternative routes, nothing desirable, like pornography.”

The FMJ study revealed that at least 27.4% of respondents claimed that their partner they met on Tinder tried to film their sexual encounter without their permission, and 27.7% had sex without a condom even though the women said they didn’t want it. .

According to the study, prostitution is also a major issue on Tinder for some women. About 72% of women said they had seen men who had profiles advertising that they would give them gifts or money, while 60% said they had been offered money or gifts by men they had met through the app.

The researchers also used two fake profiles to analyze 1,400 profiles of men and women between the ages of 18 and 55 and found that men aged 35 to 55 often requested nude photos or attempted to engage in sexually explicit conversations during their initial messages
